Dr. Elyse Salpeter is a graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. Upon graduation, she completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship followed by a medical ophthalmology specialty internship, also at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. She then spent a year at the University of Illinois researching the ocular surface microbiome and clinical ophthalmic pharmacology. Finally, she spent four years at the University of California Davis where she completed a residency in comparative ophthalmology.
Dr. Salpeter enjoys both surgical and medical aspects of ophthalmology. She is passionate about her patients and enjoys building relationships with clients and their pets to develop a team-based approach to patient care.
Originally from Canada, Dr. Salpeter loves exploring the Bay Area with her significant other and their Jack Russell Terrier named Carter when she is not working. Together, they love discovering local cuisine, community events, and the many hiking trails that can be found in the region.
