Veterinary Specialty Appointments and Emergency Care at PESCM
Thank you for placing your trust in our medical team. To help you navigate care for your pet, we have outlined our procedures below for different types of appointments. Our hospital is following CDC and local guidance to ensure the safety of all involved.

If your pet is suffering from any of the symptoms of a life-threatening emergency (listed here), please follow the instructions below:

Before you Arrive:
- Please call ahead and let us know what symptoms you are seeing.
- Keep track of time and frequency of your pets symptoms. For example, if your pet is having a seizure, monitor the frequency of seizures, how long they last, and record (as a video on your phone) the episodes if possible.
- If your pet ate something toxic, please bring the packaging, or remaining (uneaten) item.
- Please make sure you have your pet’s leash and collar, or make sure he/she is safely inside a carrier.
When You Arrive:
- Head inside to the front desk.
- A technician will evaluate your pet and determine whether or not your pet needs to be brought in for treatment immediately.
- A member of our team will check you in and provide instructions for next steps.
If your pet is suffering from any of the symptoms associated with a serious condition, or if you are here because your family veterinarian is closed and you were directed here, but your pet’s life is not in imminent danger, please follow the instructions below:
Please make sure you have your pet’s leash and collar, or make sure they are safely inside a carrier when you arrive.

- When you arrive, please head inside to check in with the front desk.
- A member of our team will let you know whether your exam room is available or if there will be an additional wait, and provide instructions for next steps.

- A member of our team will obtain a history on your pet and will then bring you and your pet into an exam room at the scheduled appointment time.
