Vickie DeHamer has worked as a reporter at The Raleigh News & Observer, a production assistant at Industrial Light + Magic on the film “Wild, Wild, West” and a blogger for various companies, large and small, animal-related and not. In between writing gigs, she always found a home in client care in the Bay Area veterinary community. She started at PESCM in 2019 and was promoted to the hospital leadership team. She particularly enjoys writing the hospital newsletter, bringing her hard-hitting reporting skills to such topics as new hires, patient success stories and photo essays of staff parties.

Vickie does not cook but does do dishes, loves getting compliments about her amazingly young-looking senior Husky-mix Lady (though takes no personal credit) and spends her free time watching her wonderful husband cook, napping and writing short stories.
