A legacy of veterinary excellence

Built on expertise, guided by compassion, and dedicated to advancing pet care.

Our founding vision

Founded in 1998, Pet Emergency & Specialty Center of Marin emerged as the successor to the region's previous emergency service in Terra Linda.

Our hospital was specifically designed from the ground up to deliver exceptional emergency and specialty veterinary medicine, featuring specialized operating suites, a dedicated ICU, and a comprehensive in-house laboratory that enables rapid diagnostics and treatment planning.

Expertise meets compassion

Today, our facility stands among the most technologically advanced veterinary hospitals nationwide, equipped with MRI, CT scanning, digital radiography, ultrasound, and video scoping capabilities.

Our exceptional team works collaboratively with primary care veterinarians to provide seamless care. This combination of cutting-edge technology and specialized expertise ensures we deliver the highest standard of compassionate treatment for every patient.

Our leadership team

Our leadership team is made up of long-term employees promoted from within, bringing over 50 years of combined PESCM experience. Having worked as doctors, technicians, and client care staff, we understand the needs of our clients, patients, and team — and prioritize them in every decision we make..

Michelle Longmire

Hospital Director

Michelle began her career in veterinary medicine in 2003 and joined the PESCM team in 2007 as part of the Client Service team. Over the years, she has advanced through various leadership roles, ultimately reaching her current position in 2018 as Hospital Director. While her responsibilities have grown, Michelle’s passion for client service has always remained.
As Director, she is deeply committed to preserving and enhancing PESCM’s unique culture, fostering an environment where teamwork, compassion, and excellence thrive.
Outside of work, Michelle enjoys life with her husband and their three wonderful children and at the gym. Their family also includes a senior cat named Grey Cat and Kimchi, a medically career-changed Guide Dog who has found her forever home with them.

Monique Oyobio, RVT

Clinical Manager

Monique has been a part of the PESCM family since 2012. She began her career in general practice before discovering her passion for specialty and emergency medicine. Monique has a true love for teaching. She takes pride in mentoring incoming technicians and collaborating with seasoned team members to continually elevate the quality of medicine at PESCM.

Outside of work, Monique enjoys life with her husband and three children, along with a lively household of brachycephalic dogs. She has two French Bulldogs, a Boston Terrier, and an English Bulldog, and even a bird.

Jessica Lorenzetti, RVT

Clinical Manager

Jessica’s childhood love of animals and special relationship with her own dogs and cats growing up led her to pursue a veterinary technology degree immediately following high school. She became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2007 and worked in general practice for several years before a trip with her own dog to the veterinary ER piqued her interest in emergency and specialty medicine.

She joined PESCM in 2012 and worked several years as an overnighter in ER before becoming a department lead for dermatology, then joined ER swing as a shift lead before being promoted to nursing supervisor in 2019. After a brief stint at another local emergency and specialty vet hospital, she came back to PESCM as a clinical hospital service manager in 2022.

When not in the hospital, Jessica can be found spending time with her husband, two children, two rescue dogs (Dallas the pittie and Frankie the chiweenie) and two rescue cats (Leo and Wednesday). She also enjoys hiking, dancing, baking, and going to SF 49er games.

Nikki Rosenfeld

Client Service Experience Manager

After a career pivot sparked by the pandemic, Nikki found her true calling in veterinary medicine and joined the field in 2022. She spent her years at a wonderful GP in San Francisco & joined PESCM in April of 2024 and fit right in. As Client Experience Manager, she’s all about creating warm, welcoming experiences for both pet parents and their furry family members—because she knows a little kindness goes a long way during stressful times.

When she’s not at the hospital, you can find her lifting heavy at the gym, committed to her skincare routine, reminiscing of her years in musical theatre, or relaxing at home with her husband and their three spoiled kitties.
