Emergency Services

Our emergency department is staffed 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

Our ER operates like a human emergency room: on a first-come, first-served basis with critical patients jumping the line. If you are having a critical emergency, come into our lobby for immediate triage. If your pet is stable, call us at 415-456-7372 for estimated wait times, or come down to inquire in person.

Our hospitalized patients are never left unattended, and you can rest assured that as your pet recovers, he or she will be cared for around the clock by our dedicated nursing team.

Our experienced emergency veterinarians, registered technicians and veterinary assistants have extensive training in a complete range of emergency and critical care services. Our doctors regularly attend CE, including monthly rounds and case reviews and national and local conferences, directed at improving and maintaining skills specific to the emergency and critical care field.

PESCM is proud to have doctors who specialize in Critical Care for our sickest patients. Our emergency team will recommend their services once an ER exam is performed.

If your pet is triaged, vitals are taken and his or her condition is deemed stable, you may be referred to our Urgent Care department to schedule an appointment for your convenience.
